Shalom Respite and Residential Care Centre is a wonderful haven offering professional care, tranquility, happiness and dignity for those affected by severe physical and intellectual impairments.

Shalom is located in a beautiful farm environment on the edge of the town of Magaliesburg.

Shalom offers 14 full-time residential places as well as catering for residents on a temporary respite basis.

There is an abundance of loving and expert care offered by trained staff, with a Staff Nurse being present 24 hours a day.

The individual needs of the client are given full consideration and regular contact is maintained with families to ensure that all physical and psychological needs of their family member are met by the staff at Shalom.

Shalom is surrounded by ample land, offering all residents whether through independent movement or assisted by staff, outdoor activities in fresh air.

Significant attention is given to ensuring a “home-from-home” atmosphere.  Family members are encouraged to create a personalised environment for their resident family member within Shalom.

Shalom offers a person with a disability who may have been confined to their home, the chance to socialise with the peer group and enjoy group activities.

Transition from home care into a residential setting is treated with utmost sensitivity.

Shalom also offers periods of observation when requested by the medical fraternity. In times of crisis, dependable respite care offers stability to the disabled family member whilst the family deal with the matter in hand, or simple take some deserved solace.
